Career Path

I was born and raised in Syria. Eagerness to pursue higher education is something I learned from my
parents the same way I learned how to speak. I had a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology and worked for 5 years as a speech language therapist in a non governmental organization. It was, and still is, the first and only organization for rehabilitation of people with disabilities. During my work as an SLP, I became more interested in the field of Audiology. My interest originated from the fact that people in general and children in specific did not receive audiology services by professionals. Thus, I decided to pursue my clinical doctorate. The field of Audiology gives me the opportunity to meet many different people with many different hearing and communication issues, as well as dizziness and balance difficulties. In addition, I am fluent in Arabic and speak a little Spanish. I love when I have Arabic speaking patients so I can get the chance to use my bi-lingual skills to help them.

Degree

Doctor of Audiology: Illinois State University, Illinois.
