Nancy McCoy, M.A.
Career Path:
I was ten years out of high school when I started to college and searched for a field in allied health care that was a good fit for me. Audiology gave me a good blend of two loves: using equipment and technology in a scientific manner, and working intimately with people to solve their problems with hearing and communication.
Audiology Degrees:
Doctor of Audiology: A.T. Still University, AZ –June 2010 to present
Master of Arts in Audiology: California State University at Northridge
Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders: California State University at Northridge
Rewards:
When I see a three-year-old child cry as he enters the booth and then smile as he exits, having completed his hearing evaluation successfully and becoming my new best friend. Or when an adult patient tries amplification for the first time and lights up when she realizes how much she’s been missing. I then get to help her navigate the maze of hearing aid choices and guide her through the adjustment period, until she arrives at a better place with her relationships and lifestyle.
What I Offer My Patients:
I enjoy getting to know new patients; finding out what their lives are about and helping them improve their communication difficulties. I particularly like to meet people of different nationalities, languages and cultures because it expands my world and understanding. I’m also pleased to see many of our Spanish-speaking patients.
